The Vessel Emergency Response Service (VERS) enables shipowners to be prepared by enrolling their ships into VERS, shipowners and operators subscribe to a service that is ready to respond to emergency situations with their vessels. They can immediately start mitigating the effects after the incident had occurred.

An emergency situation is defined as a condition where the vessel’s survivability is at risk after collision, grounding, structural damage or collapse, flooding, loss of stability, shifting of cargo, use of large amount of water to extinguish fire onboard, improper cargo loading.

Using exclusive software incorporating each individual ship’s data, the ClassIBS VERS team can swiftly calculate stability at damage condition and residual longitudinal strength.

THE VERS SERVICE

  • Available at any time 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
  • Computer-based strength & stability analysis for damaged ships.
  • Provides immediate response across dedicated communication lines directly to the team
  • Meets the MARPOL 73/78 Annex 1 “Shore-based Computer Programs” requirement for   5,000 + dwt oil tankers.

Available for any ship type and floating structures VERS is not restricted to vessel type, size, flag, age or class.
